Joining the Blog…

This is the first blog by Independent Speech.  This is part of our newly updated website.  I am eager to share with the online community.  Let me start by describing who we are and what we do.  Independent Speech was founded to help combat the shortage of Speech-Language Pathologists.  As a private practitioner I was amazed at how many people were on our waiting list or other waiting lists and had been for months and some even years.  This was detrimental to those needing speech therapy.  Thus Independent Speech was born.  Through the power of the internet we are able to provide speech-language therapy to children and adults no matter where they are.  We are able to provide high-quality speech therapy services using real time video and audio over our secure internet site.  We even provide the web-cam and headset for those who need one…the only requirement is a computer with access to the internet.  Our activity library houses hundreds of activities designed by speech-language pathologists to target any goal of speech therapy.  We are always adding new activities to our library to ensure that we always have new and exciting activities to meet anyone’s needs.  All of our activities are tailored to meet each person’s specific needs.  We are also able to provide evaluations, consultations and work with IEP teams in schools.
